The style is classic contemporary. The design of the guestroom bathrooms is of particular note. Sliding cherry wood doors along one side of an oversized bathtub can be opened, revealing the guestroom and allowing guests to create an open environment. With the sliding doors open, guests may enjoy the view of the city and Lake Michigan from the bathtub. In addition to the oversized bathtubs, bathrooms feature an eight-inch flat-screen LCD television visible from the bathtub, walk-in showers with two showerheads, double sinks and a compartmentalized toilet area. Particular attention was paid to the bathroom's luxury appointments, which include faucets and accessories by Italian manufacturer Colombo and fixtures by Kohler and Grohe. The bathroom closet is also accessible from the guestroom foyer. Guestrooms were designed using a neutral palette of warm grays and beige as a basis, accented by stronger colors of cinnamon and blue. The room was designed to be warm and inviting and offers many design elements not commonly found in typical hotel rooms. Fabrics and materials are rich and textural and include cherry wood, black galaxy granite, mohair, leather and etched art glass. All of the furniture is custom designed. Decorative window seats in most rooms are other unique features. Each room contains well-known classic architectural pieces such as BRNO desk chair and an Eames chair designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Charles Eames respectively, with other design elements of the room influenced by Le Corbusier and Frank Lloyd Wright styles. Each guestroom will be equipped with four 2-line telephones with speaker capabilities on the desk phone. Category 5 computer dataports will allow for clearer and faster transmission. An in-room safe designed to accommodate a laptop computer is equipped with capabilities to recharge while in storage.
